ManganzorManganzorManganzor is a primarily human kingdom, but does enjoy a fair amount of diversity of other races, particularly elves in its eastern regions, and goblins in its major cities. It was founded in the year 1290, by a small group fleeing from the clutches of the tyrannical Ethensek by a man named Sathren Manganzor I?. The Kingdom of Manganzor began as an isolated city state that was established at the former site of Axandera, one of the major cities in the empire of Kyldoria?. When Sathren Manganzor I came to settle the area, he found a strange and heavy white orb near the swamp at Axendera later known as The Orb of Kings?. He claimed the orb had intelligence, and that it was counseling him. Under the orb’s guidance, Axendara became the location that Sathren Manganzor’s caravan would settle. Over the course of several years, the swamp was drained into canals and the water was used to create a complex irrigation system. For generations, the royal family of Manganzor followed the council of this mysterious orb which became known as the orb of kings. It led them into riches and prosperity. Over time, neighboring city states began to unite under the banner of Manganzor. Mostly through diplomacy and a few carefully calculated small scale conflicts, Manganzor began to expand until it has grown to cover over half of all the landmass that the former Kyldorian empire once covered. Modern History of ManganzorThree hundred years after the founding of Manganzor, in the year 1532, Elldin Manganzor? died of a Narthsharian plague?, leaving the throne to fall to his eldest son, Theodore Manganzor?. Three weeks later, Theodore was crowned king of Manganzor. Immediately, the palace was locked down, no one was allowed in or out. For two years, horrible and destructive laws and rulings were made. Unfair taxes were implemented. Businesses were seized. And foreign relations were strained as threats were made to different kingdoms. After these two years, a decree went out from the throne. A group who called themselves the Hytyns? announced that they had seized the throne from the irresponsible King Theodore. The royal family was ousted, and this group took control. The Hytyns explained that they were the secret government that had always been in control. They exposed the deep secret of the Manganzor family, that the Orb of Kings was a fictitious construct made to establish authority, and that it had no actual intelligence or ability to govern. They explained that the Hytyns had always been the government below the surface, and that the Royal Family had been figure heads until Theodore attempted to assert control for himself and dissolve the council of the Hytyns. Manganzor seems to be stabilizing, though the secretive Hytyns, who desire to maintain anonymity, allow very few individuals in and out of the palace, and keep their identities secret to the rest of the world. |
